Aquaculture Feed Support Services
Supply of tailored organic (non-mammal/non-fish) fish feed, either plant based or indirectly derived from organic waste. Through combining a variety of available nutrient sources, different clients e.g. fish farmers, urban aquaponics practitioners, etc. can be served.
(Feed / Nutrition / Business)
BagaShroom
Making use of waste Bagasse (sugarcane waste) to grow mushrooms.
(Waste-2-Food)
Smart Food Labs
Educational program focused on best practices in urban food production and making Science (e.g. engineering, plant sciences, microbiology, math and physics) understandable and fun through practical outdoor development and experimentation, building food production systems at or near the school.
(Education / Local Food Security)
Pressure Assisted Micro-Filtration
Making use of the available water pressure to assist in micro-filtration of brackish to sweet water underneath floating platforms
(Water Security)
Connected Cool Centers (CCC)
This food supply chain innovation aims to support small (organic) farmers and urban food producers with limited resources, by providing an online platform together with physical cold storage facilities to provide cooling as a service (CaaS). The service will keep the value chain connected and may support the transition to more organic farming and create higher food availability at competitive prices, i.o.w. increasing food security regionally.

Ideas shared through the community will have a chance to evolve through crowd-based on-line collaboration. Collaborative work will allow matching with other mission driven individuals to team up and help drive Concept Development. Once a Technology Concept is shaped:
1. A motivated team may continue developing their own (Social) Business making use of crowd funding supported by B-STaR, or other investment opportunities.
2. The team or ideator is not interested to deal with the hassle of starting a business. Potential (public/private) partners are aligned to kick-start a Collaborative Design Project supported by B-STaR. These projects will focus on innovation through partnership.
Take your ideas to the next level!
